Marcello’s Art

Marcello Cicchini Story

Marcello Cicchini finds inspiration in focusing on the brush ‘stroke’ he can accomplish at this exact moment.
‘Just THIS moment… Creation it is not handmade. Creation requires no action… it happens through you without knowing what you’re doing. The only requirement: Be Now.’
‘I’ve sold mostly originals. In fact, I have a few originals in my possession right now and all the rest is gone, but not their images… they last forever. I started showing my art at the end of 2005 in Italy… it was a challenge and I embraced it. ‘
‘What I feel is a strong desire to pick up a brush and stain some canvas, crazy things and incoherent patterns like… red sounds, yellows whispers, orange melodies or blue hisses. Waves, spaces, distances, flowers and leaves. Light, time, protection and love! All those things I mentioned know where to go, they choose which place to occupy on the canvas. How many times have they told me what they wanted! I have only fulfilled their desires. Nothing is missing in my life. I have body, soul and spirit. And love… and I feel it.’

Marcello Cicchini – Be opened to change…

As I wrote before, my service as a minister in Italy ended in 2005. I and my first wife separate just before my decision to stop being a pastor.

Even though this rupture was extremely painful, the real cause for me to ending my church dedication was something deep inside my own being. Ending a marriage doesn’t necessarily have anything to do with ending a ministry career, but that caused a fracture from where I could see no reasons why I should continue my relationship with the church activities.
We had two beautiful sons; Ivan and David. They live in Italy and I miss them very badly.

Marcello Cicchini – Invitation of life to adapt

Our connection as humans with our Creator, runs separate from formalities and common sense.
The pain that I felt inside forced me to fight for survival. Emotional survival.
There, is where I started my career as an artist, needing to stain canvas, combine colors, show visual contrast, compounding colors that caused me pleasure. Looking for artists and their work on the internet, I wanted to feel inspired by people I admire. Hundreds of paintings since then.
Those days pushed me to write anything that came into my mind in those very moments. I wrote and published two books so far. I needed to talk through images and words. It helped me. It’s still helping me.
After I was already “running” as an artist and writer, I suddenly remembered how I felt about artists and writers years before I started.

Marcello Cicchini

Life invites you to adapt, first. Afterwards it forces you to adapt.

Always admired artists and writers and I believed that you had to be born with special talents in order to grow as an artist or a writer but now I feel that you can be anything you want and all depends on how long and intense the idea of yourself being what you want, stays alive.
I moved to the United States in December 2009 and remarried. I divorced exactly 3 years after.
We had a beautiful son, Caledon Marcelo, who completes my life and I decided to establish in this country for good.
Work wise… I started different enterprises and worked for different companies.
In Italy I was employed by Fiat for 15 years. I worked mostly as an assembly mechanic but I covered also the team leader position and information technology in the last 5 years in that company.
When I came to USA, my first job was helping in my wife’s family restaurant. After in 2010 I opened a small store in a mall in Burlington, WA where I sold my paintings and bijou. The store lasted about 7 months. I ended broke.

Life forces to adapt if you’re not proactive.

I started driving school buses, at the end of 2010. In the meanwhile I applied as a kitchen manager in the county jail somewhere in the Washington state where I worked for 4 months. I left because I found a job as a bus driver and I worked for more than a year.
In 2012 I applied to an aerospace company and I lasted about 7 months. The reason why I left that place was because I wanted to start a business again by my own in Everett WA. This time I added engravings other than my paintings.
That store lasted for a year and a half.
Straggling with bills and 12 hours/day 6 days a week, I decided to leave the apartment I was renting and go live in my motor home for a few month, until I finally gave up and started to apply for jobs.

Relatively quickly I found work at the Boeing Company as a composite fabricator and machine operator.
Why all this work “journey”? Well, one day, I realized that I wasn’t free to see my two older boys in Italy. I felt I was very entertained in this survival run until I realized that this is not the style I wanted to live until my age of retirement.
I decided that I needed to buy a house. Still living in my motor home, on the streets, I wanted to keep it like that because I didn’t want to waste money in rent. My goal was to fix my credit, pay my debts and put money aside to by my first house.
Long story short… After 6 month circa of back and forth with banks for the approval, from the day I decided to buy it, my loan was approved and I got the keys.
Part of my plan was remodel it, divide it in two or more apartments and rent it to help me grow.
I now live in half of my own house because I got what I wanted. The main house was rented and I live in what once was the laundry room and garage.
Just when I was ready to move all my stuff out of the house to make room for my tenant, I found people who live the lifestyle I was looking for; the so-called: “Laptop Lifestyle People”
